So today saw us attending the FSB Awards at the Forest Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Coventry.
The venue was lovely and the event itself very well run.
We were nominated for High Growth Business and Start-Up Business. The competition was really strong I have to say, and I was gutted that we did not win either award. Whoever said it's the taking part that counts has clearly never won anything. It's true that we do not need an award to prove how successful we are but it's always nice to win. The trophies were beautiful too. Not that I'm disappointed or anything hey.
It was nice to network with like-minded individuals though and I sat next to some lovely people on Table 11. One company that really stood out to me yesterday was Itihaas: a Birmingham-based restaurant that won the Community Award for feeding the homeless of Birmingham with his amazing Indian cuisine. Not only this, but the owner was very vocal in the need for hygiene and sanitary products for homeless women: a topic not spoken of too often and certainly not by men. A totally deserving winner in that category.
As for us, we are onto the next awards in under three weeks - The Sentinel Small Business Awards. I will keep you updated on that and if you are there please come over and say hi. We are also hopefully moving into our new offices in three weeks too, plus beginning a huge new local project: one of our biggest without collaboration. Check back soon for details.
